Our attractive gardens lead to our own small bridge crossing a stream with immediate access to Rozelle Country Park.
The park holds an abundance of wild life and features many beautiful forest walks. Rozelle House and Art Gallery are set within these amazing gardens where you can enjoy a relaxed afternoon feeding the ducks and swans in the swan ponds followed by sampling some home baking or lunch at the small tearoom in Rozelle House.
The historic village of Alloway and its many ancient tributes to Robert Burns including Burns Cottage, the Brig O'Doon and the Auld Haunted Kirk made famous in Burns' Tam O'Shanter are also within walking distance of Rozelle Lodge.
If you are a golfer, you will be pleased to know that we are surrounded by some of the best courses in Britain. The famous Royal Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry are within easy driving distance of the house, all within thirty minutes. Of course there are also excellent courses such as Belleisle and Seafield nearer at hand, within walking distance of your accommodation, which can be booked ahead for your convenience.
Ayr Racecourse is yet another reason to visit the town of Ayr within ten minutes drive of Rozelle Lodge where the famous Scottish Gold Cup is staged.
With all these attractions as well as the beautiful white sandy beaches and the interesting shopping centre of Ayr, a stay at Rozelle Lodge can be as relaxed or energetic as you wish.
Alloway and Ayr are privileged to have many very good restaurants with a variety of cuisine. There are at least six interesting establishments within a twenty minute walk of Rozelle Lodge so you may be spoiled for choice! |
